About strumtune
strumtune is an independent toolkit of free browser instruments for string players: tuners, chord charts, a metronome, and practice utilities that work on any device with a browser.
Who is behind it
I'm Nan Liang — I build and maintain strumtune end to end: the pitch-detection engine, the chord diagram renderer, and every page of content. I play guitar and ukulele badly enough to know exactly which tools actually help.
More about me: I also write at javaeye.dev.
How the site makes money
Display advertising, eventually. There are no subscriptions, no premium unlocks, and no paywalled "pro" tunings — alternate tunings are free because tuning your own instrument should never cost money.
Your privacy
Microphone audio is processed on your device and never recorded or uploaded. The site has no accounts and stores nothing server-side. Details in the privacy policy.
